I often let the creative side of me take center stage and give it no agenda whatsoever. This book idea came out of that. I like it and cannot think of a better title for a book written for creative people everywhere.

Ok; so here’s a few updates for anyone interested in my wacky world:
1) Most of you know I’m now a daddy… and its AWESOME! Ethan will turn 1yr on Dec 30th, 2013! He is walking everywhere and climbing stairs! (…and over my head whenever I lay down.) Faith and I have struggled with balancing our schedules more as the year got later, but with God’s help, we are making it all work and still moving forward.
2) Chalk wise: I had an incredible year doing work for Navy Pier, Ashton Kutcher and many Media groups (NY, LA, Chicago) I was flying all over and even developed some new ways to seal the works for foot traffic. I will be taking my Artwork indoors in the Spring for MACY’s Flower Show March 25-April 5 in 2014!
3) Audiofeed Festival: In early 2013 I unexpectedly launched out on a new endeavor to start a brand new Christian Music Festival after the demise of my beloved Cornerstone festival in 2012. I had no idea how big this new endeavor would become and just how amazing the experience would be. After only 5 months to make it happen, new friends and partners were formed and 2-3k people attended. We have still not heard a single complaint other than “it wasn’t long enough”! I am so thankful to God for it all. I am now acting as Creative Consultant to Audiofeed.
4) Creative Consulting: This has long been my role in life. It was what I was meant to do. I do it every time I speak for a conference. Besides Afeed fest, I am consulting several companies, guest lecturing at colleges and Universities when I can and helping entrepreneurs establish their presence in the marketplace. I have also made a good friend in Ben Rau this year and will be consulting him in his leadership of The Asylum, a ministry geared toward ministering to Goths, those in various dark arts and witchcraft, and the socially outcast.
5) I will be hosting a new talk show on Spreecast.com called “Sagah Brothers Presents” starting Jan 2, 2014. This is a dream I had over 25 years ago finally coming true. This week I am in NYC again! This time, to promote the new Ashton Kutcher movie: “Jobs”. It is the story of Steve Jobs, creator of the Apple computer. Most of us cannot live without our iProducts like the iPhone or iPad. (I’m blogging from my iPad mini right now). I think whatever our opinion of him as a person, he definitely shaped our world and there are great lessons to be learned from his life.
I am proud to be the artist chosen to draw his image in chalk for promotions all over Manhattan.

Update: my technique for sealing the works and causing no disruption in pedestrian traffic is gaining popularity! I now offer 2D and 3D works done offsite if needed, then delivered and adhered in less than 5 minutes to practically any surface. Perfect for busy sidewalks and commuter stations.
NEW IN 2013: I can now seal the works to last outdoors in wet weather!

Hi everyone. As many of you know I have been very private with my collection of original art over the years. Sure, I do much of my work in the spotlight but my “studio works” are the finest quality and some have been withheld from anyone seeing them until now. They are truly special for several reasons, but I will get to that shortly. Right now, I want to explain the urgency of doing it now.
My son, Ethan Alexander Hays is coming. His due date is January 4th but the Dr is going to induce on the 28th of December. While my wife Faith and I have done what we can to make this home a warm and welcome place, his arrival has motivated me to do something I was not sure I would ever do: Make all my remaining collection available for purchase. All the proceeds for these works will go directly to Ethan in the following ways:
10% to our local ministry – we do this with all income regardless
50% to Ethan’s Investment Accounts – College Fund, Savings, etc.
40% to be used for ongoing expenses (Ethan’s direct needs only)
I feel this is right and necessary. If you have ever thought of buying one of my works or you are looking for a gift that is truly going to have someone special amazed. Please know that the value on my work continues to increase every year. This last year I sold a work in Chicago for nearly $6000.00! Compare that to selling two of my most special works for only $400.00 ten years ago. That’s a huge increase. (BTW I have regained one of those pieces and will be selling it for a more appropriate value this month.)
Many well known artists have had instructions from me and some of my works have been a direct result of my consultations with those artists. There is something special that happens when you are with another creative talent. Other works were directly inspired by my experiences of painful loss and beautiful hope in life. Often the ones I cherish are represented in these works. Those who have been pillars of strength in the tumultuous world of my youth are represented by various lighthouses. My wife Faith is represented in many works by the moon (which often appears even in daylight scenes) because I miss her dearly when I am apart from her. For every work, there is a deep and often hidden meaning of hope embedded in the colorful chalk. I believe that every work carries with it the hope and prayer from my heart to it’s intended recipient. If a picture was meant for you…you will know it. I love to talk to the owners of my work about the struggle to birth that piece and how it differs from any other work I have done. If these pieces do not speak to you, they were not meant for you. Perhaps it is for another time in your life.”
I realize that my audience varies widely from youth to retiring CEO’s etc. so I’m making my Original Collection accessible to all. Here’s how:

Collection 2; for the fans who want to the rights to say “Original” or “One-Off” *Priced from $500 – $1500 US
Collection 3; for those on a smaller budget who wish to take advantage of this first time ever opportunity to own my original, hand-signed work. *Priced from $75 – $300 US
